1. Introduction

1.1 Southern Salon Supplies Limited (NZBN 9429038945397) (trading as "The Haircare Market") runs a loyalty program known as My Haircare Rewards ("Program").

1.2 These terms and conditions form the basis of the Program and govern the use and membership of the Program.

1.3 By applying for membership, a person:

1.3.1 agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions and any variations to them;

1.3.2 agrees to participate in the Program; and

1.3.3 agrees to receive information and promotions via e-mail, mail and SMS/ MMS (where such information has been provided by that person) from Haircare Market.

  1. Eligibility & Membership

2.1 To become a member of the Program ("Member"):

2.1.1 Membership to My Haircare Rewards (Program) is free to all New Zealand residents aged 16 years or over with a valid email address.

2.1.2 Memberships are limited to one membership per person. An individual is not entitled to have more than one membership.

2.2 Employees of Haircare Market and employees of subsidiary companies of its parent company, Headquarters Hairdressing Group, are not eligible to join the Program.

2.3 Membership of the Program is limited to individuals. Community groups, corporations, partnerships, trusts and other entities are not eligible for membership in the Program.

2.4 Membership and any benefits derived from membership in the Program cannot be used for business purposes.

2.5 Items purchased using benefits derived from membership in the Program are not transferrable and cannot be resold for profit.

2.6 By signing up for membership of the Program you agree that you have read, understood and accept the Haircare Market Privacy Statement and that you are also eligible for membership of the Program.

  1. How do I sign up to the Program?

3.1 You can sign up to the Program through: Our Website (www.haircare.co.nz)

3.2 You do not need to make a minimum purchase to join as a member of the Program.

3.3 You will need a valid email address to sign up to the Program. 

3.4 No physical membership cards will be provided.

3.5 It is the responsibility of the Member to check the receipt after each transaction to ensure the details (including the number of points) are correct.

  1. How do I earn points?

4.1 We want you to have as many opportunities as possible to earn points under the Program. You can earn points through:

  1. i) Shopping on our website (haircare.co.nz)
  2. ii) Completing My Haircare Rewards Activities

4.2 You will receive one point for each $1NZD (or part thereof) spent online through www.haircare.co.nz, other than in connection with the purchase of gift cards, e-vouchers or gift vouchers or postage/shipping fees.

4.3 In order to receive your points for purchases, you must identify yourself as a member of the Program at the time of making your purchase by logging into your My Haircare Rewards account prior to checking out online.

4.4 You will not receive points for purchases of gift cards, e-vouchers or gift vouchers.

4.5 You will not receive points for a purchase, or portion of a purchase, made using rewards vouchers or birthday vouchers up to the value of that voucher. For example, if you purchase an item for $100 and part of the purchase is paid for using a $10 My Haircare Rewards voucher, you will receive 90 points.

4.6 You will be eligible to receive points by logging your activities through the Account Hub, which you can access by logging into your account on www.haircare.co.nz

4.7 We may implement point caps in relation to accruing points for particular activities, and any point caps may be applied, amended or removed from time to time.

4.8 You will be eligible to receive points by completing an online product review in relation to a product you have purchased on our website (www.haircare.co.nz).  All product reviews are eligible for points as we want all customers to have the benefit of honest feedback about our products.  

4.9 Points earned through making a purchase or from non-purchase activities will be added to your online points balance within 48 hours of purchase/completing the activity.

4.10 If you return a product for which you received points for a refund, the amount of the refund will be deducted from your total points balance.  This may cause you to move to a negative points balance.

4.11 You can view your points balance by logging into the Haircare Market Hub, which you can access by logging into your account on www.haircare.co.nz

  1. VIP Tiers

5.1 Subject to clauses 4.1, 4.2 and 4.10, for every one (1) dollar a Member spends to purchase merchandise (rounded up to the nearest whole dollar) online at www.haircare.co.nz, one (1) Hair Point will be awarded ("Status Point"). Status Points are used to assess status level and privileges according to the status level scale (shown below).

Status points to be achieved within a twelve-month period (see clause 5.2 below)

5.2 Member's Status Level is determined based on the number of Status Points the Member earned during a twelve-month period, calculated from each anniversary of the date of joining the Program. Status Points do not accumulate beyond the relevant twelve-month period. Once a Status Level is achieved, a Member will remain in that level until the Status Points needed for a higher Status Level are accumulated (for example, if in “Enthusiast”, then to move to “Connoisseur”, a minimum of 500 Status Points will be required within a twelve-month period calculated from the anniversary of the date of joining the Program. If a minimum of 500 Status Points is not achieved within that period, the Member will remain in “Enthusiast” and the Status Points will be removed).

  1. Points

6.1 Voucher Points and Status Points for laybys will be awarded on the full value of the purchase price on the establishment of the layby upon presentation of a Card. If an Existing Member has a layby that has not been paid for in full, Voucher Points and Status Points will be awarded on the full value of the purchase price.

6.3 Any Points or Status Points credited in error or any points relating to a transaction which is cancelled or reversed or where a refund is given, will be deducted.

  1. Gift Vouchers

7.1 A $5 Haircare Rewards gift voucher will be awarded for every 100 Points accumulated

7.2 When a Haircare Rewards Gift Voucher is redeemed, the corresponding number of awarded Voucher Points are deducted from the total balance of Voucher Points.

7.3 A Rewards Gift Voucher issued under the Program:

7.3.1 is valid for use for six months from the date of issue;

7.3.2 can only be redeemed online at www.haircare.co.nz

7.3.3 is not transferable, not redeemable for cash and is not a negotiable instrument;

7.3.4 can only be redeemed on a minimum purchase of $30 or more for each Gift Voucher to the maximum of a $10 Gift Voucher for 200 points per order. and

7.3.5 will not be replaced due to any unforeseen technical glitches and/or errors.

  1. Other Rewards and Offers

8.1 Members may be given the opportunity to enter competitions and receive information, promotions or offers. Competitions and other information, promotions or offers will be subject to their own terms and conditions which will be available in store, online or provided separately to Members. Competitions may limit certain Members from entering or claiming a prize or offer.

8.2 Members will also receive a 100 Points birthday benefit, redeemable online at www.haircare.co.nz/ The birthday benefit is valid for 30 days from the date of issue & can only be used in one transaction.

  1. Cancellation

9.1 If a Member no longer wishes to participate in the Program or receive the information or offerings, the Member can withdraw from the Program by notifying The Haircare Market either on 0800 114 977, emailing hello@haircare.co.nz or in writing to the online team at The Haircare Market, 7 Albion Place, Dunedin, New Zealand.

9.2 We reserve the right to terminate the Program at any time and we will provide you fair and adequate notice if we decide to do this.

  1. General

11.1 When you become a member of the Program, you agree that we may collect your personal information (including for example name, email address, phone number, age range) for the purpose of communicating with you as a member of the Program, for marketing, to provide you with offers from the Program, to provide you with benefits under the Program (such as your Birthday Voucher) and provide you with information about The Haircare Market. By accepting membership in the Program and providing information to us, you agree to be contacted for this purpose.

11.2 A copy of the current terms and conditions can be viewed online at our website. (www.haircare.co.nz)

11.3 We may amend how points may be earned, the levels and benefits of the Program and these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will make all reasonable efforts to communicate changes using such methods including, but not limited to emails, and through the Haircare Market hub.

11.4 The technology utilised by the Program depend on third parties and The Haircare Market. The Haircare Market is not responsible for computer or technological errors or failures, or for fraud.

11.5 Voucher Points, Points, Gift Vouchers and other vouchers issued under the Program are not transferable, are not redeemable for cash and are not negotiable instruments.

11.6 Third parties involved in the program do not have any authority, express or implied, to make any representation, warranty or statement on behalf of The Haircare Market and The Haircare Market accepts no liability in respect of such representations, warranties or statements.

11.7 Any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions may result in immediate termination of your membership in the Program and all related benefits without further notice to you.
