I haven't found that it defines my curls in any way but I like how it makes my hair feel and it definitely smooths the hair.
This travel size is convenient for a hair adjustment during the day. It does define the curls pretty good. You don't need to use a large amount of the cream to have good definition on your curls.
I have straight to wavy hair (1C) and wanted to encourage the waves. Total Recoil does a good job of this, especially if I apply it, twist my hair in sections then blowdry with a diffuser.
