Hello, as my hair is naturally dry, coarse and cut shorter, the Surf Tonic has little to no effect on my hair as a standalone product. However, it is excellent when layering with another matte texturing product. Personally, I find a good dose of Surf Tonic massaged through my hair, then followed by Reuzel Concrete Hold Matte Pomade give additional definition, texture and sets in place well. With this combination combed through with a wide tooth texturising comb, think jagged, edgy, icy whitecaps of turbulent surf opposed to smooth calm ocean swells.
